Fajr filmfest boasts high-quality titles: German journalist

A German journalist says Fajr 2017 in Iran has a good mixture of national and international titles.

High-profile journalist of Deutschland Radio Station, Anne Francoise Weber, made the remark in an interview on the sidelines of the 35th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran, Iran, this week.

She came to Iran as a special guest of the festival to produce a report on the Iranian event.

Mentioning that she liked a lot of the movies at the festival, Francoise Weber also added that she saw some movies at the event's Film Market too.

“It’s a good mixture of national and international titles. If you ask me, my focus is only on Iranian films, because it’s really interesting,” the German journalist continued.

Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The awards ceremony for this year’s run was held on Thursday, April 27, at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.
